Ok. So you do want to know more about me. My name is Ali B. and I'm a 30 years old guy living in Melbourne - Australia. My six years worth of professional experience mainly revolves around system, network and security administration. I consider myself a web enthusiast and an all-around geek. I was invited to become a member of Habari's PMC about a year and a half ago, one year after I discovered Habari by mere coincidence and became cognitively prejudiced to it. Getting involved with the community made me return to my lost trades of teen-years and I started learning PHP again while working on what's not only my first theme, but my first attempt at what's arguably labeled "web design", and which came later to be one of Habari system theme, Charcoal.

I like to call myself a novice web designer, despite the fact that a few I know would argue otherwise. Also, in addition to contributions to the Habari codebase here and there, I do design, code and eventually abandon a new habari theme or plugin every once in a while. Whether that makes me a web developer that's, I think, up to the specific task in hand.

Not too long ago, I discovered ruby and fell in love with it. So far, though, I am unable to find the big chunks of free time that I think I need to take my relationship with ruby to the next level. Until I do, it will remain simply one of of things that I call hobbies.

I've been into electronics and robotics for as long as I can remember and have built a mobile robot and a robotic arm in the during secondary school and university time. I have a thing for point and click adventure games and I occasionally build paper models. I am currently on the hunt for my next great job.
